Frequently Asked Questions

Are your services covered by my insurance?

Yes, most extended benefit plans include coverage for naturopathic medicine. It is best to check with your insurance provider so that you know exactly how much coverage you have.

What can I expect from my first appointment?

Your initial visit is a comprehensive assessment of your health history, current concerns, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals. We will discuss your health in detail and begin creating a personalized plan tailored to your needs.

How often should I see you?

After our initial appointments, I usually ask patients to return for their first follow up appointment in 3-4 weeks to check in on progress, troubleshoot obstacles or adjust treatment plans if necessary.

Do you offer virtual appointments?

Yes. Virtual appointments are available for patients throughout Nova Scotia.

Can you order labs?

In Nova Scotia naturopathic doctors are unfortunately unable to order routine blood work that will be covered by MSI. I am able to order bloodwork through a private lab, but patients will be responsible for the cost of testing privately. Alternatively, I frequently communicate with patients' primary care providers in order to request or access the relevant blood work.

What about specialty labs?

Yes, I am able to order specialty lab testing such as food sensitivity and comprehensive hormone assessments.
